1. Consider the following categories of fairy tale helpers: human, animal, plant, nature, object, and spirit. Write a poem or work of creative nonfiction about a time one of these helped you, or a fictional story about a character in one category who receives help from a character in another.

2. Clarissa Pinkola Estés writes, “Tears are a river that take you somewhere, somewhere new, somewhere better.” Explore a scenario in which tears, sweat, or laughter become a terrain or tool that helps a character travel somewhere new.
