Prompts

  1. Write in a genre of your choice about a villain who is defeated somehow. Why does this method make sense for this villain? You can experiment with form, too, trying a how-to guide or choose-your-own-adventure structure, for instance.

  2. Write in a genre of your choice about a fairy tale villain who fascinates you. As Barry writes, the gorgon was the "perfect monster" for her. Who is yours? Explore this villain. You might write about your fascination, explain how they became villainous, or complicate their status as a villain by shedding new light on them.
