Prompts

  1. By the end of a journey, something has usually shifted or changed. In this way, endings are also new beginnings. Write a poem in which you speak to an older version of yourself, a story that includes a rebirth, or a creative nonfiction piece about a silence that has been broken. Feel free to mix and match these prompts.

  2. Domestic fabulism, solarpunk, and urban fantasy offer a few directions we might take future fairy tale writing. The wonderful thing is that we can take this genre any way we want. What are the fairy tales you have yet to see in the world that you feel a need for? What myths or fantastical narratives still have yet to be written?
